#ENDSARS PROTEST

#ENDSARS: FESTAC youths take to the road to protest

Good number of youths in Festac yesterday embarked on #EndSars protest to express their displeasure over police brutality.

The protest which commenced at around 9am had youths chanting ‘endsars’ while others were seen displaying placards with various inscriptions.

On the placards, statements like “#EndSars”, “Sars is not our friend”, "SARS must end” was boldly written to indicate the minds of the youth.

The protest was accompanied with music and show of harmony among the youths.

One of the protesters, Micheal Onyenwe said “we don’t want reform, end Sars now.”

Another protester who simply identified himself as TImi said “end Police brutality today. ‘E fit be your brother or your sister, e fit be anybody’.

“End am. End police brutality. 2023 we ready, we ready for anything.”

Recall that the protest has been ongoing for over two weeks in various part of the country. Some protests were peaceful while others involved bloodshed with men of the police force shooting directly at protesters according to report.

However, SARS has been disbanded but the youths are agitating for the disband to be in writing rather than mere words.
